Betsy DeVos is likely to win a highly contested nomination and become the next Secretary of Education, despite a 24-hour marathon hail mary effort by Democrats to stop the nomination. The Senate vote is likely to be evenly split 50-50, with 2 Republican Senators defected—and for those of you out there making phone calls to your Republican Senators to block Devos, keep calling. Last week, two Republican lawmakers, Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, announced plans to vote against DeVos, leaving Senate Republicans one vote short of confirming her— citing as a reason for crossing the aisle the “overwhelming number of phone calls they had received from constituents bout this issue.

Donald Trump was bracingly honest with Bill O’Reilly in his Super Bowl Sunday Interview, refusing to shy away from the fact that the Unites States is “not so nice” – in response to O’Reilly’s incredulity over Trump’s admiration of Vladimir Putin. “He’s a killer!” O'Reilly said, to which Trump responded: "We Got a lot of Killers! You think our country is so innocent?”
